round seven - mingle

[As evening draws near on the twentieth night here, the night of Serena's death, you may retire to your quarters. The setting hasn't changed much this time around, but you'll find beanbags in the common room now, as well as thirteen incredibly delicious and juicy burgers in the dining room with all the works. The lake also now has a sandy beach surrounding it.
The next two days and nights are relatively peaceful; there are no nightmares haunting your sleep this time around. However, after the twentieth night passes, something strange will happen every so often. All the windows will stop displaying whatever scene they usually depict and instead show a location at least one of you will immediately recognize - your home world.
But there's something wrong. Whatever place the windows are currently showing, it's not as how you remember it. In fact, it looks wrecked. Whether it's the bombed-out shell of your building, or the monsters crawling past the glass, or the corpses of your army scattered on the ground, something has clearly gone terribly wrong back home.
The windows will display the world for around thirty seconds to a minute before flickering back to whatever idyllic scene they had been depicting before. It'll take at least a few hours before they show another character's home; while there's no discernible pattern to which character's home is being shown when, everyone's home will be displayed at least once before the next trial starts.
At some point, without anyone noticing, a one of you will skulk off alone.]

[Today, Iceland took a nap. This is only notable because Norway played a prank on him and put his hairclip in Iceland's hair. If that picture didn't make it obvious, Iceland actually looks nearly identical to Norway this way, especially since they wear a lot of the same outfits here already.
Iceland has no idea the hairclip is there, so feel free to interact with "Norway".]
Day Twenty-Two; hallway
[Iceland, having just gotten ready in the morning, only glances at one of the windows as he passes. Well, that's what he intends on doing--instead, he double takes and stares, the notebook in his hand dropping to the ground forgotten.
His island is on fire. He's never seen so much lava or so much ash in the air; it's as if all of his volcanoes went off at once. He can't move--he can hardly breathe--he forgets himself and slams his hand on the window like he could smash through it into that place and fix things.]
What the hell is this?! [Iceland speaks in Icelandic, but his infuriated distress communicates across language barriers.]
day 22
What's wrong-- [ He speaks in Norwegian, and walks in only to notice the window. ] That's...

[ As seen with Iceland, Norway has played an innocent prank on him, which means he is now lacking his usual hairclip. What he doesn't realize is that he now looks mostly identical to Iceland. He'll just be wandering around, so if you need Iceland for anything... ]
night twenty-two, lake
[ Norway has seen his home. It's surprisingly more than he wants to deal with right now, so he instead goes off to the lake. It's pretty enough, and he'll either be kicking his feet off the pier or taking out a canoe or complaining about the sand to whoever comes by. ]

However, she does spend the twenty-first day with Mai. Outside of their usual clothes, they seem to have been trying on the silk formalwear from Kouha's world, complete with hair adornments. It's probable Ty Lee was the instigator here, since Mai looks...
Well, more deadpan than ever. How Ty Lee got her to agree to playing dress up is a question for the ages, but probably has to do with the mile-wide soft spot Mai seems to have for her. They're walking towards the tea room when they spot "their" window together, Ty Lee laughing as she tries to say something, Mai scowling as she tugs at the sleeve of her silk robe, when both girls freeze. The window nearest them shows a scene familiar to them both: their homeland, the Fire Nation...but the earth is scorched, and the soldiers on the ground are theirs. Who would invade...?
There's a strangled gasp from Ty Lee, and and an intake of breath from Mai, as she steps back. The Fire Nation has been... invaded? No, the war ended, no one has any reason to invade now. ]
There's no way, it must be fake. [ that's from Mai. It has to be fake. Right?
Ty Lee shakes her head, unable to respond even as she steps forward to touch the window. ]
[ ooc: ty lee will reply alone if you find her at the lake; if you find the fire nation girls at the window, you'll get both of them, or whichever you specify. ]

[Athena will spend most of the day out on the beach. It's not quite the same as a beach back home, but she's making the best of it. Most of the time, you can probably fine her out in the water, or sitting on a towel in the sand dripping wet from just getting out of the water.]
day twenty-one; evening
[She'd noticed something strange out of the corner of her eye earlier, but it's only later in the day, in the dining room, that she really notices what's strange about the windows.
You can find her sitting in the dining room, watching an idyllic scene very tensely, chewing on her lip while she waits to see if the scene will change again.]

All days
[As always Maya makes her stop to the graveyard to distribute toys, and talk to the graves like a crazy person again. She updates them on what transpires and promises them she's going to try to help them out before all this is through! Then she lets them know she's going to try channeling again...]
Day Twenty-Two and on; around
[When the window flashes to Maya's home - specifically, Phoenix losing his badge, but then getting dragged away like a criminal and locked up (presumably to get the death penalty if anyone's familiar with
JapaniforniaAce Attorney-land), Maya, rather than looking distressed, ends up sitting in front of a window and watching it with a numb expression on her face][Even as it changes to other scenes (later), she hasn't moved much (unless it's to another window), still looking on blankly]
[Otherwise, she can be found eating her burger (or attempting to eat someone else's if they're not paying attention), or rollerblading around and trying to snag people's arms and tug them with her]
[Or she's preparing to try channeling again by meditating wherever it's quiet]

[Klavier can be found in the music room strumming an acoustic guitar and humming to himself. Occasionally, he'll scribble something down on a music sheet or switch to the piano or an electric guitar. If you stick around long enough or walk in at the right time, you can hear him singing snatches of songs; his voice is superb and he has a great sense of melody, but all the lyrics seem to be about...a pair of brothers and their baby pictures...or a vitriolic romance between two people who collect expensive cards...or convicting a masked man for playing with a lady's heart....you get the picture.]
day twenty-two
[He's still carrying the acoustic guitar around, but now he's no longer in the music room. Instead, he's lounging in the common room and strumming it idly, the very picture of relaxation...unless you notice how he hasn't taken his eyes off the windows the entire time.]

[Ritsu spends some time trying to prepare six individualized bowls of food for six incredibly sad pokemon who probably don't have much interest in doing much of anything without Serena. He really has no idea how this happened but somehow with Serena gone they've become his responsibility.
He'll really try anything to cheer them up even the slightest bit-- playing by any and every body of water, letting them all out in the field, trying to get them interested in whatever nonsensical thing is on the television, making up really bad stories to read from blank books in the library, sitting in the aquarium, do pokemon like onsen baths? Let's find out.
Because he's sure this is going to be a very hard few days till the next case... which. Will also be hard... Everything is hard...
It does sort of provide a welcome distraction from other things though. Like what happened to the infirmary, the third mark on the wall, the dead lingering around without a way to help them, and... sharing a bedroom with Kaoru...
Speaking of which he'll avoid blue room and any room Kaoru might be in as much as possible without being rude.]

or a demon getting cereal at about the same time Ritsu is coming in to feed the pokemon... he looks up before Ritsu even enters the area, in the middle of putting the box back, still too drained from the previous day to make anything more complex. he gives a placid look of curiosity.]

[As soon as Malik steps in here, the smell of burger patties hits him like a brick wall. He recoils and covers his nose and mouth in disgust.]
Ugh...! Who the hell put these here?!
night 20; graveyard
[This is the first time anyone would have seen Malik here, and he's casually sitting amongst alter of photographs with a satisfied look on his face.]
I wonder if you can all hear me? Are you mad? I made it this far, and none of you did. Too bad we didn't learn about saving people earlier! Well, lucky for all of you, none of you died in vain.
[Every death of another was one that kept him and Harriet alive. That seemed to be all that mattered to him.]

Channeling Austria (Day 22 Afternoon) 1/2
[Anyone that's seen Maya channeling Youmu before can recognize her kneeling again in the middle of the common room, her eyes closed, her head bowed, and concentrating hard! She's mumbling to herself incomprehensibly. It goes on for a good minute before she goes completely still again, and then...]
[You can't pinpoint how or when it happens, but her appearance is suddenly completely different again]
